For the Balkan Debate Public Policy Challenge, you are asked to write a policy brief of 1500-2000 words written in Times New Roman 12, spacing 1.5 addressing one of three topics on the overarching theme of “Joint Future of the Western Balkans in the European Union”.
The Balkan Debate and Public Policy Challenge is a competition organised by IDEA Southeast Europe along with its partners, the Balkan Forum and Južne Vesti with the support of various institutions and experts.
The theme “Joint future of the Western Balkan in the European Union” examines how Kosovo, Macedonia, and Serbia, or the Western Balkan countries as a whole, can advance on reconciliation and their joint future in the EU.

The deadline for submission is May 10th, 2019, midnight (participants’ local time).
Any undergraduate student from Kosovo, Macedonia, Kosovo, and Serbia can participate in the Challenge by submitting a policy brief. The 30 participants with the best briefs will then participate in the local forum.
The best 3 of each local forum will then participate in the final forum in Skopje. The cost of travel and accommodation for the Forum will be paid for by the Organisers.
